Phase IIA Construction Complete!

Celebration Sunday which was the official end of our Lifestyle Stewardship Capital Campaign and Phase 2A Dedication was held on Sunday, June 5, 2011. Members were given guided tours of the newly completed NBCF Administrative Wing which includes offices for administrative and ministerial staff, classrooms, an interactive conference room and green room for visitors. Phase 2A also includes an elevator to assist our elderly and handicapped members access this wing.

This week, the drywall was installed over the rest of the walls, the elevator shaft design was finalized, and taping of the walls began. Taping and completion of the elevator shaft will occur next week.

Phase 2A Construction Update 3-28-11

What a couple of months it has been in the continued construction of the Worship and Family Life Center. After viewing the critical needs of the church, the board recommended that we complete Phase 2 in two portions, first the administrative wing, with classrooms, the elevator, and offices, and then the activities wing with the gymnasium, dance studios, classrooms, and kitchen. God was already moving in that direction, as a family in the church was moved to offer a $100,000 matching gift, Nsoroma II raised $215,000, and 192 additional families gave a total of $193,000 towards the Phase II construction costs. These funds were exactly what were needed for the construction of the administration wing, and to do the preparation for the activities wing as well as do permitting for our south parking lot. Since January, we have been moving fast on the construction of Phase 2 A, the Administrative Wing, with classrooms, a green room, conference room, elevator and office. As of this weekend, 3/28/2011, the walls have been framed and covered in drywall, the elevator has been ordered, the elevator steel supports have been installed, and the initial electrical, heating and air conditioning, and plumbing are in place. Walls are to be textured this week, with painting starting in the second week of April. Everything is on schedule to be looking good by Easter, with the exception of the installation of the elevator. The elevator is scheduled to be installed in the middle of May. Please keep the project in prayer for both safety and schedule. We will be holding a grand tour on the third Sunday in May, as well as a celebration of the completion of the Lifestyle Stewardship Campaign. All of this would not have been possible without faithfulness and sacrifice on by many members and friends of NBCF. As we make the final push towards completing our pledges for the Lifestyle Stewardship Campaign, know that your offerings go towards more than screws, studs, and paint. These offerings provide the space and the place for powerful and effective ministry to families, children, and seniors. Please prayerfully consider finishing this offering campaign with a sacrificial gift. Paz, Rev. PHASE 2A Construction To Begin

Construction will begin on Phase 2A of the NBCF Worship & Family Life Center on Monday, March 7, 2011. Phase 2A is the NBCF Administrative wing of NBCF. Included in the wing will be administrative offices for all staff, Pastor Braxton's office, classroms, a conference room, and "green room" for guests. Disabled members and visitors will have access to this area by elevator.

Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 was also kick-off Sunday for funding of Phase II of the WFLC. Phase II includes the NBCF Administrative Offices (including conference rooms and reception area), a dance & rehearsal studio,fully equipped cardio and weight rooms, banquet hall/gymnasium, music room and classrooms.

Funding for Phase II will come from:
1.) NBCF Member's tithes and offerings as well as contributions from the final
year of our Lifesytle Stewardship Capital Campaign

2.) Nsoroma, LLC investors

3.) Foundation grants

4.) Contributions from visitors and friends of NBCF.

Estimated completion of Phase II is scheduled for late 2010.

Dedication Day

On August 2, 2009 The NBCF Worship and Family Life Center Phase I was dedicated into service for The Lord. Over 1500 worshiped with us during our first three services.

Phase I includes a 1000 seat Sanctuary with cry room, the Early Childhood Education Center, Youth Sanctuary and Youth Lounge. Also, the Rising Star Christian Bookstore and Morning Glory Coffee Bar both located in the Memorial Narthex.

Progress update 5-7-2009

The Worship and Family Life Center is coming together fast. The interior framing for Phase 1 has been nearly completed. Heating Systems, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers have all been installed and drywall is going up. The baptistery was installed on Friday, with the youth center, book store, and children's center almost ready for painting. The exterior has received it's first coat of paint, and the new facility is really coming together. To date, over 17,000 hours have been worked at the new facility, with no accidents and a minority participation rate of nearly 40%. We look forward to that day coming soon when the doors will be opened for all to hear and experience what God has for them.

Cross Raised for all to see

A great day at the New Worship and Family Life Center for New Beginnings Christian Fellowship. About 250 people saw the interior of the building and witnessed the cross going up on the building in the midst of the rain and snow. Great job by Turner Construction, Corona Steel, and Snell Cranes. Raising The Cross

Roof Finished, Installing the Well For the Cross

The roof has been completed, with final preparations for the mechanical well that will hold the Heating and Airconditioning Units and the Cross. Framing for the north side classrooms is finishing as well.

The roof is going on, with the good weather allowing the roofers to cover ground quickly. The west side is nearly finished, and the east side will go on next week, weather permitting. The last structural beams are going up inside, preparing for the space that will hold the cross to be installed late next month. Keep checking back to see how this project continues to move forward.

In the month of November, steel work continued and foundation work has nearly finished. Rough electrical and plumbing work continue and HVAC has begun. Framing of interior walls have begun by Unlimited Construction. A new roof started as well, right in the middle of the storms at the beginning of the month. Everyone is working together with over 4500 hours of work completed and no accidents. Praise to God.

This month, demolition has finished and structural steel upgrades and foundation work has begun. The second floor of the offices were completely demolished to prepare for new walls. The walls in the youth center have been taken down, leaving a large room for future youth ministry. Old electrical service and plumbing work has been removed and new conduits and sewer pipes are being installed for the bathrooms. The elevator pit has been dug, as well as most trenches for the interior walls. Ascendent Demolition, Adept Plumbing, and Kirby Electric are doing an excellent job to bring our new worship center together. More pictures can be seen at 10-1-2008 update.

Turner Construction to Continue Renovations Sept 3

Last month, Donovan Brothers Construction encountered scheduling conflicts with other projects and had to pull out of our building project. It was a challenge to us, as we were ready to begin demolition before the Walk of Faith. But, the construction committee sprang into action and contacted two different General contractors with extensive commercial renovation experience. After a week of interviews, we chose Turner Construction, Special Projects Division, to be the general contractor for our new center of ministry. Turner Northwest is the largest general contractor in Washington, but has a focus on integrity, teamwork and a committment to their clients. Their committment to working with the community, national buying power, and extensive experience made them the best choice to bring our Worship and Family Life Center to completion as quickly as possible. We were able to continue with most of the larger subcontractors, and have been ferverently working to put everything in order for construction to get underway. Demolition will continue just after Labor Day. Construction updates will be given each 2nd Sunday in service, but you can always check on the progress at our construction website, nbcf-wflc.blogspot.com

Sign the Wall of Faith

After the Walk of Faith, many of you signed your name on the building as an expression of the committment you have to the work of NBCF. For those who were not able to attend before, we would like to offer one more opportunity for those who would like to sign their name. August 31, after the 11:00 service, the building will be open for you to sign your name. Bus transportation from Lindbergh will be available.

The Walk-Of-Faith - August 2, 2008

On Saturday, August 2, 2008 members of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship will participate in The NBCF Walk-Of-Faith. The Walk-Of-Faith is an eight-mile walk that recalls the marvelous journey God has led us on to our new Worship and Family Life Center.

The eight mile walk will begin at Renton High School in Downtown, Renton, (where we held our first worship service on August 5, 2005). From Renton High School we will walk to Lindbergh High School in the Fairwood neighborhood (NBCF relocated to Lindbergh in July, 2006). The final leg of the Walk-Of-Faith will be from Lindbergh to our new Family Life and Worship Center located in the Panter Lake area at the Renton and Kent border.

Please consider sponsoring one of our members in the Walk-Of-Faith. Participants of all ages will seek pledges for the Worship and Family Life Center Building Fund. All sponsors will be invited to help us celebrate at the WFLC site at the end of the walk

Subcontracting Meetings Announced

So that interested minority and women owned businesses have the opportunity to meet with all general contractors in this project, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship has scheduled two subcontracting meetings at the worksite, 19300 108th Ave SE, Renton WA 98055, from 11:30 to 1:00 on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 and from 11:30 to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. All General Contractors will be present for your questions and will be presenting how you may bid on the project. Please fill out a Contractor Interest Form and bring it to the meeting. Insuring access to business opportunities and fairness for all is an important at NBCF, so come join us in this project for our future.

NBCF Village Construction Begins

Development of the NBCF Village will begin soon! Our Vision will be realized in three phases:

Phase 1 is the renovation of the old Renton Athletic Club into a 1,000 seat sanctuary, with adequate class rooms, office space, and athletic & fitness facilities. Our architects made a presentation outlining the preliminary features of the renovations at our recent Annual Church Meeting.
Phase 2 will be the development of senior housing and a charter school.
Phase 3 will be the construction of the new Nsoroma Sanctuary.
